Background and editing

The source asks for a plain light colour or white background. The source does not say whether the background may be edited. The safest route is a plain wall at capture. If you replace a background, check the receiving organization’s rules first.

Rules from the source

  • JPEG, 10 KB to 300 KB; height and width must be equal.
  • 350 x 350 to 1000 x 1000 pixels.
  • Full face, front view, eyes open; centre the head in the frame.
  • Full head from top of hair to chin.

Expression, lighting and how recent the photo is cannot be measured from a picture, so check them yourself.

Can you make it at home?

Yes, and nothing is printed. The source accepts a photo you prepare yourself.

PortraitPass frames the photo against the head and eye lines above, then exports a file at the exact pixel size and under the size limit.
